SaffroFlex 2k(PUA-666)

Saffroflex PUA-666 is a high-performance, two-component polyurethane adhesive specially formulated for bonding tiles and stones to a variety of challenging substrates. Its excellent elastic flexibility, strong adhesion, and resistance to thermal shock make it suitable for both interior and exterior applications. It is ideal for cladding on high-rise buildings and deformable surfaces, including heated floors and substrates prone to expansion or vibration.

Key Features:

  • Two-component, ready-to-mix formulation
  • Excellent bonding on difficult substrates such as metal, PVC, rubber, linoleum, and asphalt
  • High flexibility to accommodate movement and thermal expansion
  • Suitable for both absorbent and non-absorbent substrates
  • Ideal for exterior facades and cladding systems
  • Strong resistance to freeze-thaw cycles and vibrations
  • Suitable for glass, metal, natural stones, and large format tiles
  • Excellent workability with extended open time under normal conditions
  • Recommended for heated floors and thermal shock zones
  • Non-sag consistency for vertical installations

Applications:

  • Large or thin tile and stone installations
  • Absorbent and non-absorbent substrates
  • Heated floors and thermal shock areas
  • High-rise building cladding
  • Glass, metal, wood, rubber, PVC, linoleum, and asphalt surfaces

Application Guide

  • Ensure the substrate is solid, clean, dry, and free from contaminants such as oil, grease, or dust. For newly installed cement screeds, ensure the moisture content is below 5%. Tiles should be dry and free of any substances that could affect adhesion.
  • Mix Saffroflex 2K PU-666 by blending part A and part B in a 4:1 ratio using a low-speed (approximately 400 RPM) helical agitator. Mix until a smooth, uniform, and consistently colored paste is achieved.
  • Prepare only the amount of adhesive that can be used within one hour at +25°C and 50% relative humidity to maintain the adhesive’s workability.
  • Apply adhesive to the substrate using the flat side of the trowel to press it into the surface. Then, use the notched side of the trowel to spread a uniform layer, ensuring proper bonding.
  • For areas that can be tiled within 20 minutes, spread only as much adhesive as required. For large-format tiles (greater than 12” x 12”), back buttering is recommended to ensure full bedding and support.
  • Place tiles gently into the adhesive, using a beating block and rubber mallet to embed them securely and adjust for evenness.
  • Check adhesive transfer by removing a tile and inspecting its back. If the adhesive has dried or developed a skin, remove it and replace with fresh adhesive to ensure proper adhesion.
  • For timber floors, ensure adequate rigidity, and provide ventilation beneath the flooring. Strengthen tongue-and-groove or parquet floors with exterior-grade plywood to ensure stability before tiling.

Its available in 20 kg bag and can be stored in a cool, dry place and use within 12 months of manufacture. For more information you can call at +91 8607650126
